As Mary Nichols of the California Air Resource Board said of the Durban climate change talks, "Progress is going to come from the bottom up, not the top down. That's just reality."
Time is running out on finding a global solution to a global problem. That is why, in addition to our Engineer Exchange program and our Sustainable Energy Engineer-in-Residence service, we have made our services available internationally. To be clear, our firm has no intent in becoming a global juggernaut. Instead, we believe that using our services to assist developing countries - with the dual purpose of transferring our technology, knowledge, methods, and software to support in-country expertise - to be one of the most valuable uses of our time for the benefit of all.
Our team has a strong background working in other countries, working with in-country expertise to develop appropriate engineering solutions. Our engineers have worked in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Syria. Projects have included a whole-town energy audit, and evaluation of micro-hydro and diesel generation, for a town in Bolivia; wood gasification; efficient wood-burning stoves; heat exchangers.
Our team would be excited to work in your country, with your engineers, on your project. We would encourage interested parties to consider international or US aid programs, Clean Development Mechanisms, and other sources of funding. Our team can assist in exploring these sources of funding if we have serious interest from an international partner. Ideal projects would serve a dual purpose of using our services to further key projects, while also explicitly transferring technology and knowledge to in-country engineers.
