Diego Souza
Diego is an energy engineer that conducts energy audits and serves our healthcare clients as part of our embedded energy management team. Diego’s diverse background working as a mechanical engineer in manufacturing, optimization, data driven modeling, and design allows him to approach problems with a unique perspective, combining practical field experience with advanced theoretical knowledge. Before Go, Diego worked as a subsea engineer conceptualizing and evaluating alternatives for offshore oil and gas projects.
Diego earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil. Diego’s passion for efficiency and making a positive impact led him to earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, where he investigated and applied optimization techniques to minimize the energy consumption in chilled water systems using data driven methods. Diego’s technical knowledge of chilled water systems aids him in identifying and implementing energy-saving opportunities for Go clients.
At his free time, Diego enjoys being outdoors hiking and biking with his wife and dog. When indoors Diego enjoys baking and listening to music. Whether indoors or out, you may find him engaging in conversations on how to solve difficult problems in society and make the world a better place.
