Kerina Macariola
Kerina is an energy engineer that works on energy auditing, commissioning, healthcare energy management, and measurement and verification projects. As a member of the hospital energy management team, she supports healthcare clients in achieving their energy goals by identifying efficiency opportunities, analyzing utility data, and leading discussions with facility teams. She also plays a role in commissioning, ensuring that building systems operate as designed. Additionally, Kerina has contributed to multiple industrial and commercial energy audits. Beyond auditing and commissioning, she helps run energy efficiency programs and provide technical assistance for our municipal utility clients.
Kerina graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Before joining Go, Kerina was a controls engineer, working with building automation systems. She worked on several HVAC controls replacement projects for various Ohio school districts. During those projects, she designed electrical control panels, commissioned automation equipment, optimized control sequences for energy efficiency, and provided on-site technical support and troubleshooting assistance during and after equipment installation. She also tracked school districts’ energy usage post controls replacement, to verify sufficient energy savings were achieved.
In her free time, Kerina likes running, hiking, and playing soccer. She hopes that one day she will run in the Boston Marathon and that her rec soccer team will win more than one game a season. She also likes reading books and crocheting sweaters.
