Peter co-manages our work advising municipal utilities on energy efficiency, load management, and renewable energy programs. He also co-leads our energy markets and policy consulting for the Ohio Manufacturers Association. He brings expertise in the time and locational value of distributed energy resources (DERs) to go along with skills in optimization, statistical modeling, and big data.
Peter’s background is interdisciplinary. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Philosophy from Ohio State University, and worked as an engineer at Go from 2014 to 2017. His fascination for how policy and economics influence the energy sector brought him to UC Berkeley, where he received his M.S. from the Energy Resources Group in 2019. During his time in California, Peter analyzed the economics of Ohio industrial electricity rates for his thesis project, worked for the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab with the Grid Integration Group, was a Summer Policy Fellow at the Natural Resource Defense Council, and received the National Science Foundation fellowship. Upon completing his Master’s degree, Peter returned to Columbus, excited to incorporate the knowledge and policy expertise he had gained into his work at Go.
Peter enjoys outdoors (backpacking), indoors (book club), doing indoor things outdoors (board games), and doing outdoor things indoors (gardening). He usually uses an indoor voice. In the Columbus community he supports the Washington Gladden Social Justice Park, the Boys and Girls Club, and Third-Hand Bike Co-op.
